My name is Chew, the founder of Bijou Hearts, an online jewelry label. Bijou means jewelry in French and Hearts is the love and affinity one should have for self. It is not just a brand it is a movement of spreading self-love and empowerment for the modern muse.
2. What inspired your passion to sell jewelry?
I have a strong passion for fashion and I believe that to complete an outfit, jewelry acts as a need. The idea started off when I was looking for jewelry, as a gift for my friend and with big brands in the market, buying quality jewelry pieces without breaking the bank is almost impossible. Hence, delivering quality pieces with an affordable price yet artful designs has always been the core value of the business.
3. What was the most memorable experience that you had so far in your business?
The most memorable experience would be waking up to notification of first order placed, it’s like the moment of “hard work pays off”. I will never forget that simple moment of joy, but I know it doesn’t stop there; it’s the beginning of the long journey.
4. Are there any challenges throughout the journey? And how do you overcome it?
With little to zero knowledge about digital marketing, it is definitely hard to know where to start. However, with few experiments, learning the strategies and tactics I definitely got better results, it is not rocket science, it just gets better with trials and errors.
