Tell us a bit about your business and what is your story: How did you get started and decide on what to sell?

Foodsource PH is a consolidation of the best food brands in the Philippines. It all started out when I started my own food brand and I experienced the hardships of looking for stores to sell them. Looking at the market here, the most famous local brands are usually just small backyard businesses who only sell during weekend markets and bazaars.The idea was to do a collective effort in promoting such brands.

How did you make your first sales? Which channels are now generating the most traffic and sales for you?

Our first sales online were through cross-platform posts. It started with the now-defunct theshop.ph, then we gained more momentum when we started posting in Lazada. In terms of our own site, the best strategy for us when we used social media to promote a free shipping offer.

Tell us about how EasyStore helps your business. What tools and apps do you find most useful?

We've been using e-commerce platforms for some time now. What we liked the most about EasyStore is that it's a great mix of affordability and function. For the price it offers, you get a lot more features with a lot less limitations. It's not perfect of course, but it's probably the closest even compared to platforms twice or thrice its price.

What advice do you have for those who are new to ecommerce or planning to start selling online?

For everyone who wants to start doing e-commerce, I would always recommend that focus should be in marketing. Education is very important so consumers may realize the advantages of ordering online. Traffic has been a major problem here in Manila so the obvious choice is for us to offer convenience. With a great number of choices for courier services, there's really no reason why we have to ask customers to come to us. As mentioned above, offering free delivery has been our most successful campaign yet. But this of course, can only be availed through a minimum basket size. Some people would see this as just a computation on when you can afford to shoulder the cost. For us, we see it as an opportunity to increase our average order size.
